The Department’s vision reflects its ambition and aspirations to become a leading department among History departments in all fields of education, teaching, and scientific research.
The Department is responsible for preparing students admitted from secondary school graduates in both the scientific and literary streams over a period of four years, in addition to admitting outstanding graduates to postgraduate studies, in accordance with modern teaching methods and contemporary educational technologies. It focuses on presenting reliable historical information through a comprehensive curriculum that includes ancient history, Islamic history, and modern and contemporary history, highlighting their civilizational and scientific contributions.

 

1. Understanding the present, anticipating the future, and recognizing the reality of political, economic, and cultural development by highlighting the causes of historical events and their subsequent outcomes.
2. Developing students’ skills and training them in the principles of scientific research methodology based on criticism, analysis, description, and comparison.
 3. Consolidating the values of divine, human, and national principles in a rapidly changing world full of events and developments.
4. Contributing to the preparation and upbringing of generations in accordance with ethical and human values, enabling them to fulfill their educational and cognitive roles and to engage with others through their educational and intellectual responsibilities.
5. Developing academic communication between the Department’s faculty members and History departments, both internally and externally, in order to strengthen relationships and promote peace, freedom, and progress.
6. Highlighting the civilizational and humanitarian role of Arabs and Muslims in the past, and consolidating and promoting human values among other societies.
