The Department’s vision is to prepare teachers and researchers in the field of specialization, in order to contribute to supporting society and educational institutions with competent personnel capable of fulfilling their duties effectively.
The Department also seeks to develop its graduates’ capabilities and enhance their scientific and ethical competencies through postgraduate programs. All of this aims to achieve quality in education and scientific research, maintain the Department’s distinguished academic standing, and contribute to excellence and advancement toward the establishment of advanced postgraduate studies within the Department.
Preparing and qualifying professional cadres who are capable of fulfilling their future roles in education, community service, and scientific research. They are also equipped with the ability and competence to apply educational and psychological theories to develop institutional work in the fields of education and scientific research within relevant specialized institutions. Furthermore, they are distinguished by their capacity for creativity and innovation in the fields of educational and psychological sciences and their development.
The Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences is considered one of the important departments that contributes to the preparation and development of human resources. It plays a key role in achieving essential aspects of the overall objectives of the educational system, the objectives of higher education, and the objectives of Colleges of Education in light of the state’s central philosophy. The specific educational objectives of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences can be outlined as follows:
 
  1. Preparing students academically, professionally, and culturally.
  2. Enabling students to apply scientific methods in addressing problems and real-life and professional situations.
  3. Enabling graduates to pursue postgraduate studies, keep up with scientific advancements and developments in educational and psychological sciences, and master scientific research methods.
  4. Strengthening scientific cooperation with educational and social institutions, organizing seminars and workshops, and implementing training courses and continuing education programs related to educational and psychological sciences.
  5. Helping students acquire beneficial attitudes and values in line with our Arab values and the principles of the true Islamic faith.
  6. Developing students’ attitudes, interests, and inclinations, and enhancing their abilities toward the teaching profession, scientific research, and educational and psychological counseling.
  7. Developing and enhancing the professional values and ethical attitudes related to the teaching profession, scientific research, and psychological counseling.
  8. Developing and guiding students and community members toward acquiring self-learning skills, broadening their horizons, and enhancing their competencies so that they are able to access sources of knowledge and culture independently and make effective use of them.
  9. Serving the University through courses offered as part of the university requirements.
  10. Serving the College of Education by contributing to its various programs.
  11. Serving the community by organizing short courses and workshops, providing psychological, educational, and social consultations, and contributing to various media outlets.
  12. Participating in committees at the college, university, and community levels.
  13. Contributing to the development of scientific research within and outside the university through conducting scientific studies in the psychological, educational, and social fields, as well as standardizing psychological and educational tests.
